Westfries Museum
The Westfries Museum is housed behind a seventeenth century façade filled with lions and civic crests. The painting Vrouw Wereld (1922) by Jacob Wapen, was stolen from this museum in the early hours of the 10th of January 2005 together with 22 other seventeenth century paintings, a print, a drawing and some 60 silver objects. Fortunately the Westfries Museum still has an exact replica, digitized by Pictura.
