In the area of Mechelen six different heritage foundations joined forces to digitally unlock their unique heritage.

The Regionale Beeldbank (Regional Image Bank) has become a valuable member of the Flemish digital heritage community. The image bank is regularly fed with new images. Pictura digitizes its unique photo’s, cards or pen drawings.

Typical of this project is that Erfgoedcel Mechelen uses the image bank actively and in a variety of ways:  New themes on the homepage, special facts, etc. With every visit the image bank shows something new, which is why it has such loyal visitors and more and more visit the site every time.

Using our management environment Memorix each partner has its own collection. This gives everyone his own place. But they also work together, for instance with lists of keywords and of street names that are shared by all the collections.

The Regionale Beeldbank is a great example of how several heritage foundations together can create a captivating tale of digital heritage.
