Our very own, completely secure fiber optic connection. From Pictura in Heiloo to the computer center in Amsterdam. The last meters of cable have now been laid down. Only a few more days until the connection is complete. Then Pictura will be connected to the internet with the speed of light.

Pictura switches to a new, extremely secure, hosting system. Placing the fiber optic connection is a part of that. From now on Pictura uses two computer centers: One in Amsterdam and one in Heiloo. Both centers, connected through the fiber optic connection, store the same data. This is to ensure that we always have one up-to-date backup and that the websites hosted by Pictura are always accessible, even in the unlikely event of a malfunction.

Because of Pictura’s direct connection to the data center in Amsterdam, uploading data (digital images, digitized films, databases, etc.) will go even faster.
