The municipality of Bergen op Zoom, Historical Centre The Markiezenhof displays the highlights from her archive at www.markiezenhof.nl

Pictura digitized a lot, a whole lot. About 425 meters (1615 feet) of archive were devoured and some 50,000 cards, photographic slides, glass negatives and photographs have been digitized. A new site was also designed and the images have been made available through the site. The new web store on the site offers the possibility to order prints in various sizes.

Tuesday the 2nd of September the new Markiezenhof web store was officially put into use by the Bergen op Zoom culture alderman Maarten van Eekelen. Pictura built the website and the web store and digitized all the images from the Markiezenhof collection that could be viewed and ordered.

You can now order prints of photographs, maps and other images from the Markiezenhof collection in the new web store. Ordering is easy: there is an image of a shopping cart beneath each image. Clicking on it gives an order form. There is not only a wide variety of formats, but the prints can also be delivered on various materials. From high quality photographic paper to canvas and framed or unframed. It is also possible to download the digital files. Ordered prints are delivered to your home by mail as soon as the transaction is complete.

At the moment, the following collections are available: photographs, glass negatives and photographic slides and civil and church registers from the municipalities of Bergen op Zoom, Woensdrecht and Steenbergen. Free copies of the records from the civil registers can be downloaded from the site as well.

In the near future, the web store will be filled with images of geographical maps, the notarial and judicial archives, sections from the archives of the Raad en Rekenkamer and the Leenhof, the archives from the weeskamers of Bergen op Zoom and Steenbergen, parts of the municipal archives of Bergen op Zoom and Halsteren from before 1810 and the archive of military affairs.
