An impressive accomplishment and one that Pictura is proud to be a part of. Earlier this year we already digitized 45,000 pages of the civil registry of 1811-1938. Later this year we also digitized around 160,000 birth, death and marriage certificates. To enter all the data, index it and manage it, Streekarchief Bommelerwaard uses our program Memorix Genealogy. Apart from the registers and certificates since 1811, the regional archive also indexed twenty registers with birth, death and marriage certificates from before 1811 and it is already hard at work on the others. For the front-end of this database, Pictura built a website for Bommelerwaard. We also host it for them. One of the things this site helps visitors to do is research their family tree for the regional archive’s campaign to search for true inhabitants of the Bommelerwaard. The goal is for inhabitants of the Bommelerwaard to prove that their family tree has been rooted in the Bommelerwaard for 30 generations. Pictura is capable of digitizing large numbers of documents over a short period of time and can also take care of data entry.
