The exhibition ‘Maria. Love for Maria in North Holland’ is held until the 11th of January in the Westfries Museum. The exhibition website was designed by Pictura.
The website for the Maria exhibit is part of the website of the Westfries Museum. Pictura made that site for the museum so it could manage its articles and pictures by itself. The center piece of the exhibit about Maria worshipping is the Maria of Hoorn. The statue stood in the Onze Lieve Vrouwe Church since the 15th century, but disappeared in the next century during the iconoclasm. In 2007 the statue surfaced in Sotheby’s in New York and was bought by the Westfries Museum and returned to Hoorn. There, it is now exhibited together with Maria statues and relics from all over North H
olland.
