On the 23rd of March 2009 the website AlleFriezen.nl was opened with a festive ceremony. The website is an initiative of the province of Friesland, the participating municipalities, Streekarchivariaat Noord-Oost Friesland, Historisch Centrum Leeuwarden, Tresoar and Pictura. Pictura digitized (and is still digitizing) all the documents, placed the data from those documents in a database and built a website to provide access to that database for the public.

The presentation was held in Wommels, capital of the municipality Littenseradeel in Friesland. The small terp village was flooded with guests, all awaiting  the official opening of AlleFriezen.nl by deputy Jannewietske de Vries. After an introduction by mayor Johanneke Liemburg and a short demonstration by Onno Zaman the floor was hers.

After the opening journalist historian Geert Mak graced the presentation with a few beautiful historical tales based on data from the website. You can view the introduction and the entire film of the presenation below.
