Photos Warnsveld Stay Available Thanks to Image Bank

On the 2nd of december the Regionaal Archief Zutphen opened her new image bank for the Warnsveld collection. Pictura scanned the collection from the archive of the former municipality Warnsveld and designed and built the website for the Regionaal Archief. Now some 3000 photos can be locked away safely yet stay available through the image bank.

The Warnsveld collection is special for the Regionaal Archief. On the one hand it was a practical matter because the collection was already described, essential to really bring to life the past depicted by the beautiful photos. On the other hand because Warnsveld no longer exists, it merged with Zutphen. This way, however, her rich history lives on.

December 4th an article appeared on the Stentor website about the Warnsveld image bank. You can view it here.

All the photographs of the new collection were digitized and topviewed by Pictura. Because of this topviewing, visitors of the image bank can zoom in on the photographs to up to two times their original size. The high quality of the scans keeps the images razor-sharp.

Pictura also built the website for Regionaal Archief Zutphen. Thanks to the image bank the original photographs can go into storage, far from outside influences. From now on, whoever is interested only needs an internet connection to step back into the old rural municipality of Warnsveld.

Pictura has the means to transport valuable or fragile objects. On top of that, we have a special insurance policy for the transportation and handling of originals. Should it turn out to be impractical to transport material, we can also work on site.
